1. Cologne – Christmas under the Cathedral

🚂 TIC Tip: The central station of Cologne is very conveniently located in the middle of the city center, underneath the gigantic Kölner Dom. One of the biggest Christmas markets is also next to the Dom, making the train a very smooth travel option!

2. Dresden – the oldest and most atmospheric

Dresden's Striezelmarkt, which dates back to 1434, is often cited as one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany. Here you can sample the famous Dresden Handbrot and admire handcrafted wooden Christmas decorations from the Erz Mountains.
